If you ask yourself, is this course for me – here is my answer (Liz, writer, September 2018):

The answer is an easy yes.  From professionals to wannabe writers I defy any one person with an interest in writing to not be inspired. You will be privy to a wealth of valuable insider knowledge and you will be constantly supported for personal success whatever that may be.  If you don’t have a voice…you may well find it in these workshops.  I did.  I went from NO confidence, I think I might just keep starting things and not finishing them, to I am going to be a novelist.  Since the course I have managed over 50,000 words some of which I am actually pleased with!

You are given professional direction that leaves you feeling like you’ve been touched by magic.  And whilst that may seem over the top to you, Helen Cross is one of life’s givers and selflessly and expertly wants to see people around her successful and happy.  A truly impressive teacher.

The organisers are without doubt genuine people whose motivation simply cannot be profit.  It was clear from the start they had put all of themselves into what is most obviously going to become a very successful venture.  Both poised at any moment to fulfil any needs we might have of which the vast majority had already been thought of.  Evident in the itinerary where down-time focused on the discovery of the local town, a 12th Century Cave Church, meditation’ a dip in the pool, evening in an authentic local restaurant plus much more.

The accommodation is befitting for those who seek inspiration.  Choose to spend time alone or participate in that well thought out itinerary designed specifically for you to gain maximum return on your investment. The whole thing is extraordinarily good value for money. Which is why it’s not surprising that half the attendees have already booked for part deux, myself included. And why on day one, I wasn’t surprised that someone had travelled from Australia to attend the first one!

Don’t get me started on the food, actually do!. By the end of our workshop, I wanted to marry Wendy and take her home with me.  I have worked in events for over 20 years and the food is beyond expectations and get this…. NO I couldn’t quite my head around it…. was healthy??? OH MY LIFE I LOVE WENDY! The feeling was unanimous.

Truly from the moment we were picked up the whole event became for me a once in a lifetime experience and personally set me on a path I never dreamed of.  I made some real and lovely new friends, something we could all always do with.  I found out that I was much more than I ever thought I could be and left wishing that I’d stayed true to the little girl who always wanted to be a writer.

I would recommend this to anyone with an interest in any kind of writing. The fact we had ghost writers, journalists and secret writers like me,  made for a collaboration of diverse ideas and an eclectic 4 days.

Charlotte (writer, September 2018) had this to say:

I so enjoyed the time we spent together in France. As someone who hasn’t really enjoyed the ‘classroom’ I absolutely loved the pressure of the response writing we did in the workshops. Also meeting all of you and hearing your ‘stories’ as well as slightly unravelling who you are to-date was such a privilege.

Sarah and Becky, your course was a success, it was well run and the perfect balance of work and time-out, so I hope you have had time to absorb the achievement.

Bridget (writer, September 2018):

"As a journalist I write professionally but this course taught me so much about the art and craft of fiction and screenwriting. And not only did I learn a great deal, but I laughed, ate the most wonderful food and enjoyed picturesque surrounds. Sarah and Becky thought of everything. It was brilliantly organised from beginning to end and I would recommend their writing retreats to everyone and without question attend another workshop in the future."
